The Way to Berlin

Located in the heart of Europe, Berlin is easily accessible from all points on the globe. Since the reunification the city has regained its position as an international crossroads. Berlin's two international airports, Tegel and Schönefeld, connect the city with every major destination in the world. The third airport, Tempelhof, offers some domestic connections and a few international flights.

Berlin can also be reached comfortably by express train. The Zoologischer Garten station is the terminal for the downtown area and just 15 minutes from the TU Berlin. A German "railroad freak" offers, as a privat initiative, a railroad server that finds for you railroad connections between all German and many European cities.

One can also come to Berlin using the Autobahn which connects the city with all major German and European cities.

Transportation in Berlin

Although Berlin as an undivided city runs 38 kilometers North to South, and 45 kilometers East to West, commuting is fast and easy. Thanks to a modern, well-established public transportation system, which is comparable only to the famous transport system of Paris, one is able to reach any part of the city in a very short time. Besides buses, subway and trains, excellent taxi service is available as well.

For those who enjoy the nightlife of Berlin there are special night buses which run from 1 to 4 am.

The U-Bahn station Ernst-Reuter-Platz is adjacent to the TU Berlin. The S-Bahn stations Zoologischer Garten and Tiergarten are just a few minutes away.
