Viewing and Printing of DVI and Postscript Files
- DVI and Postscript files are gzip'ed to reduce network traffic.
Your viever should be able to handle that format automatically.
- When you select a DVI file from mosaic, it is immediately
presented for viewing using the xdvi program.
Since you cannot print the file from xdvi, you must save it to
disk first.
To download and print DVI-files, first select "Load to local
disk" in the Options menu. Then click on the link to the DVI file.
You will be prompted to provide a file name for the copy of the
file you are saving. The filename extension should be ".dvi.gz".
Once you have saved the file, gunzip and print it. Don't forget
to de-select the "Load to local disk" option.
- Since the ghostscript viewer has a "Print"-button, the
above procedure does not apply to Postscript files.
Figures
- Figures are available for most papers of vol. 34 (1+2) and
vol. 35 (1).
- All other figures will be available "Really Soon Now".
Missing figures are indicated by a "*" next to the title.
- Since many of the author-supplied figures come in weird formats,
we decided to scan them at 300 dpi and provide compressed
Postscript versions of the figures in separate files.
Once printed, these may be cut and glued into the white areas
of the printed articles. Certainly this is not the ultimate
goal in electronic publishing, but for now it's the fastest
solution to provide you with all the figures.
